Stephine from dear silas
Today I am handing my blog over to Stephine from dear silas. She not only has one of my favorite blogs but she is one of my sponsors and we also connect through Twitter.
So about 6 months later, I started a blog to keep track of my pregnancy with my first baby and I LOVED it. I loved posting about my ultrasounds and every time I felt something new. However… my blog took a turn for the worse when my pregnancy did. I had my son when I was 6 1/2 months pregnant and I was lost. How do you blog about your baby passing away? You just.. you blog like any other post. I’m a very open person and it felt good to sit down and write out a post. To know that someone would be reading my words and maybe they might understand. I named my current blog ‘Dear Silas’ because it’s my way of writing for my son, to let him know that Mommy is okay and to let him know what I’m doing.
What I love most about blogging? I love that I was able would reach out to so many people. That I would find so many people that were like me, they lost their babies too. And these people literally saved my life. They let me talk to them, ask them questions, and they told me that I would be okay. They let me know that what I was feeling was normal and that I wasn’t going crazy. The people I have “met” in the blogging world have gotten me through the hardest time in my life and for that I am thankful. Now it’s my turn to do the same. So I blog about my life, I blog about school, but I also am very open and I blog about child loss. I want to be open about it because so many people aren’t. I want people to know that it’s okay to talk about your children and that I am here if they need someone to talk to. Blogging is awesome : )
The number one thing I can recommend to a new blogger or to someone who hasn’t found their “theme”. Be You. Be yourself no matter what. Blog about what you love, blog about what you have interest in. Is it going to pull in tons and tons of viewers like those other blogs? Maybe. Maybe not. Don’t blog for the views and don’t blog to make money. Sure those are perks of blogging sometimes, but you should never blog for those reasons. Just be yourself and you will be happy. Blogging should never be a chore and it should always, always be fun! : )

I so agree about how bloggers should be themselves. That is SO important, for both new bloggers and veteran bloggers.
