Top Ten Thursdays

Top Ten Thursday – Podcast

I am such a nerd. I listen to talk radio all the time and especially when I am in my jeep. I love it.

So for todays top ten I am going to share with you my favorite podcast.

1.) The Bible Answer Man - By far my favorite podcast to listen to. I have been listening to Hank for about ten years now and continue to grow in my faith every time I listen. I recommend to Christians and people who have questions about the faith. You can even call in and ask your own questions. Click here to connect through iTunes.

2.) Champion Forest Baptist Church - This is my church and I love it : ) Click here to connect through iTunes.

3.) Biblical Literacy - This is my Sunday school meet up. Mark teaches the class like if you were to go through seminary which I love. Click here to connect through iTunes.

4.) ACLJ -  I really enjoy this podcast. It gets you involved with the news of the day in regards to Christianity. Click here to connect through iTunes.

5.) Walk in the Word - I just love listening to this podcast. Click here to connect through iTunes.

6.) Second Baptist Church - Another church in my area and another great podcast. Click here to connect through iTunes.

7.) Word of Promise Bible -  Okay. This isn’t’ a podcast but is so awesome. I listen to it all the time in my jeep. It is an audio bible BUT it’s done dramatically. The bible is acted out and there is an actor for each character. And you can buy each book the bible separately and each book is only about $4 through iTunes. I KNOW! I love listening this in the jeep when Ryan is with me because he also gets to listen to it. Makes the bible easier to understand and enjoy. The events really come to life.

And just a couple more I love…

8.) Insight for Living

9.) Leading the Way

10.) Love Worth Finding

Top Ten Thursday – Travel

Today is Top Ten Travel. There are so many places I would love to go visit…

1.) For as long as I can remember there have always been two places that I have wanted to live. One of these is New York. There are so many things about this city that I love even though I have never been. For one I love that you can walk or take a taxi anywhere you want to go. I am such a city girl so the idea of being surrounded by this huge city just makes me fall in love. I also want to try their pizza, learn their accent, and see time square.

2.) The other place I have always wanted to live is London. I am not sure why but something has always attracted me to London.

3.) This is beautiful isn’t it? I love being on the water and in the mountains so this is a fun combination.

Top Ten Thursday

I could spend hours on Pinterest just getting ideas for our new house. We have been here since February and I have loved decorating. One of the big things to me is making it unique and having our personality just written in all over it.

This week my Top Ten is brought to you Pinterest. The top ten things that I want to do in my house….

You can also follow me on Pinterest here – Pinterest

1.) I love this look for the kitchen. I don’t have many cook books because I get most of my recipes online but I definitely want to do this in my kitchen.

2.) With Halloween coming up I have been on the lookout for some cute decorations. This is the first year we will celebrate the holidays in our new house and I am so excited about that. I love this idea for the front door!

3.) Because my hubby travels so much I want to make his office into a travel themed room. How cute is this look?!

4.) I want to do this either on my stairs or in my master bedroom. I am saving up frames now : )

5.) And I want to do this either in the play area or the craft room.

6.) I love this for the front door. I am not sure about the numbers but I love the flowers and colors.

7.) I LOVE this idea! Ryan gets so happy when he sees his art work displayed in our house. I would love to put this in his room or in the play area.

8.) I love the colors here. I am going to something similar to this on my fireplace mantel after the holidays.

9.) I love this for the guest bathroom. I love making my guest room and bathroom really comfortable for when people come over and this is a great idea!

10.) I love these bar stools! We have been looking for some for our house but I love this bright color look.

Top Ten Twenty Thursday

These are the top twenty (I couldn’t narrow it down to ten) things that I want to make sure to teach my son. There are more things that I could add to this list but to me these are the most important….

1.) Say please and thank you.

2.) Hold the door open for people.

3.) Never judge someone unless you’ve walked in their shoes.

4.) Don’t be a bully.

5.) Don’t start fights. But if someone starts one with you make sure you finish it.

6.) Always believe in yourself. You are awesome.

7.) Always kiss your mommy goodnight.

8.) Don’t give much thought to what other people think. It only matter what God thinks about you.

9.) Pray a lot.

10.) Be grateful. Because everything you have can be taken away in a second.

11.) Work hard.

12.) Enjoy life and the little things.

13.) Don’t be a cheater. You have no right to treat anyone in a rude or ugly matter.

14.) Don’t be full of excuses.

15.) Be content with what you have. Have more is not alway better…

16.) Go to the beach a lot and just listen to the waves.

17.) Be a great boyfriend/husband.

18.) Know what you believe in and stand by it.

19.) Know right from wrong. If everyone is doing wrong don’t follow.

20.) Be loyal. There are so few people nowadays that are loyal.

Anything you would add to the list that I have left off?

Top Ten Thursdays

Every Thursday I am going to post my Top Ten of something. It can be my Top Ten ways to decorate a fireplace mantel to Top Ten books to read….

Todays it’s all about Summer….

I am so loving Summer. I love being able to stay up late at night watching movies, not having to worry about packing lunches for the next day, and just doing whatever we want when we want.

A couple of weeks before Ryan got out for school I looked on Pinterest for some awesome stuff to do this Summer. I love just sitting around watching movies but the best part of Summer is being outside. Or inside with the TV off.

So here are my Top Ten things to do this Summer (in no particular order)….

1.) I am so excited about this! And thankfully we have a big play area upstairs so we have the room for it without making the house look like a big mess.

2.) This is such a cute idea! Ryan loves stuff like this. He has an obsession with tall buildings, cell phone towers, freeways and electric towers. He loves building cities with his Lego’s and even makes the electric towers and freeways for them.

3.) One of the most important things to me to teach Ryan is about hard work. My husband is seriously the hardest working person I know and I love him for it. Because of his hard work we have a really nice house, live comfortably, and are able to do some awesome things. So I thought that it would be fun to do a Lemonade stand this Summer. And I will match whatever he makes because I am his mom and that is what moms do : )

4.) This screams a huge mess but what else is Summer for??

5.) Sidewalk paint : ) So fun to make and to use! And there are so many things that you can do with it (games, pictures, words, counting)….

6.) Ryan also wants me to buy him those crazy expensive stamps from Hobby Lobby. I wouldn’t mind buying them so much if I knew that he wouldn’t lose them but he is six so that is probably a lost cause : ) So when I saw this I thought “awesome”. These stickers are only a couple bucks at Walmart and would keep him entertained for hours.

7.) We have tons of soda bottles left over from Ryan’s birthday party that I was just going to throw out. That was until I saw this. I love this idea and it is so simple that I am mad I didn’t think about it earlier. We have cones that Ryan kicks over with his soccer ball so I know that this is a game he would love.

8.) Because what kid doesn’t like bubbles??

9.) This would be great for a rainy day. Especially if you combine it with idea #2 : )

10.) One of the ways I love decorating is with Ryan’s art work. I have it all over my house : ) And this would look awesome on my mantel or on my wall. I love that there are so many options to doing this. You can use bright colors, neutral colors, or even make a picture with the dots. Love this idea!
